OBAMA IS MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT

I read an article today in The New York Times regarding the stimulus money and its effectiveness or rather lack of, to the public school system. It resonated deeply and personally to me. In two relatively highly rated public schools that my children attend there is more talk of budget cuts to the schools rather than any stimulus funding. Programs like science lab, PE, computer lab and library have suffered. In lower grades there is no science or computer lab at all. In this technological and scientific age, how in the world are we going raise our kids without instilling in them the basics of advancement??? Homeroom teachers are now responsible for PE. So are we basically taking away a focus from a healthy lifestyle?? The old saying that "readers are leaders" is obviously taking a backseat. My question is that if we, the upwardly mobile, thankfully employed people are giving our kids this kind of education, what is happening in the somewhat unemployed inner city neighborhood?? Are we going to take away any ray of hope from the underpriviledged that they may rise above adversities through education??
