AS big name as the big place. Being here as an employees gives me pride. Of course when having a job in this time is difficult and you have a job that too at Cummins, you feel proud to tell others where you work.

Affected by the falling market demand and financial problems, Cummins has announced 800 layoffs to cut its cost accordingly. I've seen some excellent employees terminated in the annual RIF (reduction in force). The workplace is becoming so politically correct that it is slowly losing its luster as a good employer. Someone mentioned May 2009 as a main layoff season in Cummins but we are not yet sure of it.
