I am honestly regreting to say that I actually quit working at the Dollar Tree because of the pathetic excuse for a manager I had. She was extremely rude to customers and the employe's. After an incident where she called me a liar at the top of her lungs, screaming at me in front of a customer, I wrote her a nasty note saying that I would not return. A few weeks later, I knew her car wasn't there, and I got along perfectly fine with everyone else, it was just her that I couldn't stand, I went in to pick up some things being as the Dollar Tree really is a great store. When I went in, the assistant manager alerted me that I needed my paycheck. I knew it wasn't because it was already direct deposited, but none the less, I followed to retrieve it. While handing me the envelope, the assistant manager said, and these are her exact words:
"(Name of manager) said that if you wouldn't have came in to pick that up, she was going to throw it away."
That is illegal and she belongs in jail...definatley not the Dollar Tree. I can't stand her or the way she treated anyone!!!!!!!!!!

I have been working at DTree for almost 1 1/2 years... It is the worst place to work... EVER! I thought it would get better but it just got worse... fast. I just can't wait till the end of August when I get to leave this GOD AWFUL place for a few months while I go off to college. DTree is a disgusting excuse for a store that provides nothing but cheap crap for CHEAP PEOPLE. They say that dollar tree provides help to the poor, and a slight economic release for those in economic despair, but in reality all DTree does is provide jobs for poor, and exploited young children living in China. I hate myself everyday that I have to walk through the doors and slave for a cooperation that has more lead based recalls (in children's toys, and hair products!) then any other major company in the United States. There is so much more to say, but I think I've said enough for today :-)

Go Dollar Tree Team! GO!

You learn a lot about groundbreaking, process-driven retail. Generally, it is a forward-looking company that is organized and well managed. It is a diverse company and you get to work with many different kinds of people. With the economy struggling right now and layoffs happening at major companies, I feel secure in the knowledge that Dollar Tree isn't going anywhere. It's a huge company with plenty of financial means and they can weather any storm. The customers and most of the co-workers keep me coming back to my job. As a part time worker I get virtually no benefits other than company matching my 401k contribution.
