This company will lie to you, and will use your skills and then throw you away. Employee's are disposable to them. They are outsourcing to another country, apparently they do no care for America, and would rather give people in other countries jobs at a cost of poor service. They also had the current US employee's train the people who were taking their jobs. They will lie to the government just so they will get a contract, then outsource the job to other countries. They have an upside down pyramid type style, where there's 50 managers to every two employees, (exaggeration of course.) but it is not out of the known for them to have multiple managers when they are not needed. Nothing to them is long term, everything is short term. I have been with them for a while and my experience here is horrid, it is like I am trash and not a valued employee who helps run the company.

I worked within the federal division on a contract for the Navy in Herndon VA.

Never have I worked at a technology company with so many technolog-ignorant people. LOTS of dead weight accomplishing and knowing nothing. My boss was a pathetic "lifer" in the position only because she'd maxed her pay grade as an editor. She kept personnel issues in personnel files without telling employees. She threatened me with termination one month before my son was born, having helped with a baby shower 2 weeks before that.

Most folk there were riding out retirement or finding it the first place they landed after hitting 20 in the military.

The subject line says it all.

After 7 1/2 years I got the axe in the 1/15 round. My layoff was handled via a conference call in another managers office. I never met any of the dozen managers I had during my sentence at eds. This particular manager was 2nd from the worst. 100% clueless and 99% worthless.

I knew it was coming. So, I had my laptop and cell phone all boxed up. Never will I step into that office again.

The severance was OK. For 60 days I remain on the payroll with full benefits. The only reason this is being done is because of the WARN act. eds/hp have laid off enough people to now be considered by the Federal gov't to be doing mass layoffs. After the 60 days, I get 3 months of severance; 1 month of COBRA payment grossed up to pay for the taxes; some type of outplacement service. Plus vacation I've been saving. I saw it coming.

I'll be posting this under hp also. Since eds only exists in name. Which should be gone in a couple of years.

If you ever get the "opportunity" to work for eds or hp, RUN the other way!!!! THE WORST company I've EVER worked for. It was a blessing to be laid off.
