I just want to let people know that when I was an employee from jeld-wen windows, the wood I was made to use was rotting, sapped up, broke, wrong size and just plain old junk. Clad colors didn't match, they ALWAYS failed the water chamber testing they did. We were told, send it out anyway by the so-managers. If they didn't have parts, which was all the time, other workers in the plant would make those parts from scrap junk and still charge the same price to the customers. Then they would "ACT" shocked when the customer caught the junk product and then would come back and blame the workers who were told to make it and send it that way from the managers. This company is such a disgrace. Please invest your money in Anderson windows-absolutely sooooo much better of a product. Management just loves to flirt and have affairs with every stupid chick employeed there. Too bad they don't know how to manage a group of 10-20 people.

I bought Caradco windows which have been bought out by Jeld Wen. The quality of the Caradco wood sucks after 14 yrs but is still WAY better than Jeld Wen's service. I will be getting glass from a local vendor cheaper than I can get it from Jeld Wen at the prorated cost. If and when i can get the double-hung window parts from JW.

NOT a happy customer!

Worst company ever... Minimal recognition for customers who paid good money for over rated products. As a former employee, a delay of over a month to fix a water/air infiltration is beyond inadequate. I felt sorry for all the customers I had to deal with but service was worthless. I really wished to give you help but a single technician to fix Windows& Doors from Thunder Bay to GTA is a big laugh to the people who buy these products.

So....I was trying to find out if these windows were any good and this seems to be nothing more than a bitch session for unhappy employees. Geez people, we are in a recession, EVEYONE is unhappy with their jobs right now...grow up, get off your ass and go find a new job.

I've made three orders from JELD-WEN windows. In the first order, a part was shipped damaged. JELD-WEN replaced the part. On the second order, three accessories were missing. After calling JELD-WEN, they later sent the parts. On the third order, a critical accessory was missing. After calling JELD-WEN, they shipped the wrong part out two weeks later AND to the wrong address. I'll be looking for another supplier of windows in the future and I suggest you do too.

what a fucking shit hole this place is. no incentive to work hard, they never give you a raise, safety is least on there mind. plastic PVC dust everywhere and they don't care if it effects your health. so many people come out of that place with health problems.

management is retarded, all they do is tell you to work faster and faster. instead of giving us two 15 minute breaks like every other decent company they give us a 10 minute break which turns into a 6 minute break (2 minutes to get outside after bell goes, 2 minutes back to work station before bell goes).

And yet they have a union to protect you from all of this, really...? seriously? these guys can fire you anytime they want, and they do it all the time.

All these guys do is use and abuse you. dont like it? QUIT. they will replace you with some fucking scrub off the boat from africa that will work for $2.00 an hour, they are happy.

If management truly wants to learn about what their employees think or need, just read every post on this site. Go back to the beginning on JW Telonu, its frightening to say the least. The Wendts and board of directors, Barry, Mark should be held accountable for the mistakes in the past 5 yrs (opening factories, fail fiberglass door decision, millions wasted, blind judgement, and mostly not holding up to the Jeld Wen hype of Their people come first. A total lie and just business. The stock drop, the effect on all of us on retirement, Esop have left a bad taste about Who JW really is. Those on the Board of Directors may have lost million in stock value, but they had millions and can afford it. Those of us on the line everyday, Territory Managers, Arch Reps lost 3/4 of their retirement and it will not come back soon. To prove a point, they haven't had a Yearly company meeting in 2 yrs, since Mark Brock made the famous statement, "I hope you all make $500,000 this year. This is after Todd Halstram and management cut base salaries and commissions to 1% or less. Those nearing retirement age lost hundreds of thousands dollars and can never recover a penny, since they are retiring and forced to retire. I've worked over 20 plus years in Management for JW and the reward, was I barely got my initial money I put into the company, they took the $400,000 plus I acquired over 20 years. Shame on JW, Shame on the Wendts and Shame on the Board of Directors. Did you know you can't buy back your Stock of 20 years investment? That is right, JW prior Stock is private. Rod Wendt controls or the Bank of America tell JW when they can release stocks. It's pretty much frozen, and the Wendts are not allowed to sell it back to everyone who wants it. Why they would have to close the doors. Banks own JW for lack of a better reason, BofA loaned them 1.5 billion almost 2 yrs ago. The moral of the people, we will call them the little men and woman, is zero. They have NO Faith in Rod Wendt

I live in a home that is three years old, with Jeldwen windows, they have been nothing but trouble. Rotting wood already, won't close properly, loose screws and hardware, separating corners on the frames.

Wallstreet is on the upward trend because corporations like Jeld Wen
have slashed their workforce to the bare minimum.They are doing very little ,if any hiring.They are using the bad economy to their advantage.They are making them do more work with less people on wages that don't keep up with cost of living.Meanwhile, ceos make more money than ever before.When the stimulus fades corporate profits will crash into a sea of red and millions more pink slips will be handed out.We're going into a deflationary depression.Jeld Wen does'nt care about the small people on the factory floor.If it was'nt for the grunt work of the production worker on the factory floor the Jeld Wen ceo would'nt have his private jet and huge outdoor in ground swimming pool.Wallstreet gets bailed out,corporations downsize,cut wages,reduce work hours,and the ceos get fatter ,and greedier than ever before.The small people lose again,just like they did in the great depression.Companies like Jeld Wen are destroying the middle class right before are very own eyes.In 2 years New York will be like Mexico city.1% will be extremly wealthy,25% will be well off,everyone else will be living in third world poverty.Gerald Celente, a trends forcaster ,is very accurate in his predictions.He predicts a super depression in 2012.WWW.trendsresearch.com The taxpayer will stage a huge tax revolts because they got shafted by the biggest robbery in history,the bank bailouts,too big to fail.I'm sure Jeld Wen is not hiring because they are very scared about the economy in the next 2 years.They should be,if you thought 2009-2010 was bad,wait till 2011-2012.I wonder how long it will take before they admit we are in a super depression in the 2011-2012 time frame.Jeld Wen will have to make another big round of layoffs to cope with the next housing crash.Corporations have to learn not to be so greedy and give the small people a decent wage to make a living,like Henry Ford did.THE SMALL PEOPLE LOSE

I used six JeldWenn 10 light french door slaps in a sunroom, and had them installed in a stationary way....they are double paned, etc etc. There is condensation between the panes in all six doors - in at least five lights on each door. These were installed five years ago and should last for three times this long at least. I guess JW windows and doors are really throw aways....Lowes and the JW rep for Lowes in our area would not do anything to help in the replacement of the glass or the doors...Don't ever use JW windows or doors and don't buy building material from Lowes....they just want the sale and don't stand by anything.....
