My friend told me that IBM is looking to buy lionbridge... if this happens the working conditions ought to get better. IBM made a deal with us a few months back so I suppose buying us is the next logical step.

Worked for a decent company that was acquired by Liox, and working conditions went down the drain. A company managed by finance folks and accountants, with an Operations VP that micromanages overworked people. Almost all of their workers simply hate working there, and their turnover proves it. The CEO is the typical money grabbing, greedy Republican in charge of a corporation, trying to build up ops capacity in places where he can get away with getting a lot of working hours with very little money, like India. Many might say this is ok, but I personally think people like him should be in jail.

I have been working at Lionbridge for almost 13 years. Job security is great and the company offers a wealth of opportunities for growth. During the hight of the 2009 crisis it avoided letting employees go at any cost by asking for temporary pay cuts, but these were reverted as soon as the situation improved. Working at Lionbridge is really fantastic for workers interetsed in working in an international environment.
