I was really worried when the lay-off wave started to take the nation, and each day I woke-up with the thought in mind, today might be the day, I'll get the news. But, thanks goodness, it seems to be settled down now. Those were very hard times to explain, with low motivation and a lot of pressure. Every single mistake can challenge your presence at the company. Though, it not over yet, but things are getting reconciled. But, I must say that few bad apples can spoil the bunch. This had happened at the other department where the whole department was sack, thanks God it never happened to us.

Oracle is no doubt a very flexible place to work in terms of where you work from: you have a good opportunity to work from home if you want to as most of our project teams are situated around the globe so our meetings and communications are held by conference calls or by emails anyway..

There are many ways you can grow at this company especially in my Division, there are always new projects to tackle and add staff to. Oracle is recognized as a leading software company not only because of its top notch technology but also as employees are provided by the challenging tasks that will help you to polish your skills. Experience that you gain from Oracle will be most impressive on your resume. Salaries and benefits are not competitive as compared to other companies, though.

Balance between work time and personal time is not very good. People have lost sense of personal life. Everyone is afraid to lose their jobs and works very hard to show they are better than the rest. By having so many new people there seems to be a longer learning curve experienced overall as a whole and may have added to some of the turn-over consistently experienced in some departments. I no longer have charm in working for Oracle.
