Don't value employees. Going on fourth year without raise. No matter how well you do, they will rate you as only meeting expectations. They are giving the raises, bonuses and stock options to the people who can't code their way out of a bag in India. They are too afraid of losing those incompetent coders, because they're cheap. Our aquired company (PeopleSoft) was a much better company. They at least valued employees. Larry only cares about lining his pockets the cheapest way that he can. Layoffs always abound. I really think they put the screws to people so they will end up quitting and not have to pay a severance. That's why no raises for US employees.

Was an SE (Sales Consultant) at Sun and was a full employee -- well, glad to have transitioned to Oracle (and not laid off) -- but am told that I am an hourly employee --
pros --- get paid for working overtime
cons - guess they can lay us off with no notice or severance -- looks like Valley employers are really starting to rape the workers.

I expected that my severance package will include health insurance for 6 months or so. But they offer that. Is that the norm at Oracle??
