If you joined this company to be part of innovation, new ideas, IRAD, and in general thought you would be working with group of highly qualified and decapitated scientists and technical experts, then you would be disappointed unless you had some inside connections.
There are different branches of SAIC, so I am not going to make blanket statement of all branches, by the sector that I work for (the one which has been deemed the most profitable is essentially involved in running the lab(s) for military, and terrifying to convince them they should be running these labs. Just doing the military work for them, whether at the base or overseas. In itself there is nothing wrong with this, but they should just be upfront about it (perhaps politically it is not wise thing).
At any rate there is revolving door ox ex-military personal coming to SAIC.

Problem arises because employees are at mercy of annual spending designated by the different branches for labs of interests and there is constant stress of not having contract work.
Too many short tetm contract, lots of stress.
