Symantec was a great company to work for during the "good times", but when things got tight they simply dumped staff to make the company look good to the stock market although it didn't work in any of the cases. During the first big RIF in the early 90's, they managed to dump a lot of the talented staff who helped build the company putting in the long hours, etc because they had the most stock options, etc and it would save them the most money in the short term. Sad to see that kind of disloyalty in an employer.

Symantec is going through a outsourcing program, which is all above board, but they have forgotten that their staff are human being not number and dollar signs, they have lost all morals when dealing with staff.Loyality is dead, its unfortunate, but true. Symantec premerger was a company that cared about its employees and that is why it was so succesful. A happy employee is a productive employee. It was a company you could be proud to work for but once the Symantec - Veritas merger happened the company came crumbling down and has struggled to find it feet and it is the employee who are suffering.I am optimistic that thing will change but its doubtful.
