Worst company ever with respect to middle management. Stay away at all costs.

Usairways is a good company to work for overall. The pay and benefits are above average for other airlines. Employees with as little as a high school education can make good money. The main problem with the company is that many of the employees expect the company to take care of them-the craddle to grave adage applies here. Moral is low and really the company can not please the employees it seems.

Traveling on US Air was the worst travel experience I ever had. And I've done a lot of traveling throughout the years. No food for sale on the plane, this happened right after leaving their hub in Phoenix. The wheelchair I requested was not waiting for me, causing me to miss my connection. And then, spend almost 12 hours alone in an empty terminal (I was left on the wrong side of the airport in Philly) Everything was closed, even the US Air customer service desk person told me she was off duty & left telling me someone would be on again at 5:30 AM. Because of this I missed a night in my hotel & US Air would not compensate me for the night lost.

US Airways is suffering really badly due to the economy and so to keep wages down, they are willing to hire anyone which in turn causes less efficiency. This also results in low morale in hard working people. An employee never knows how much job security he or she has. There is no career path for most of the employees and the job security is terrible. Under the current management team thousands of employees have lost their jobs.
