It is not fascinating at all to work for such a giant. It is just like being at the Atlantic ocean, not in thousand lives you would be able to know the employees of even your department. The turnover ratio is also one of the reasons. And believe me that it is the last thing I want to bear in my life.

I work as Staff Engineer. I joined it 2 years back and was hired into a Staff Engineering position. And I have survived the recent layoffs. Yahoo is a good company with strong customer focus. Work Life balance, frequent feedback on performance from management, on-site gym, new facilities, awesome food in the cafeteria etc. I also like the collaborative environment and usually look forward to going to work every day.

There has been a pronounced decrease in the quality of middle management. It feels like it's tending to become more bureaucratic. Nothing like on the scale of my last job, but still not what I expected when I joined. Most people are overloaded, and in this economy, we are unfortunately not hiring but oppositely laying off large number of people.
